QwenPaw is a self-hosted personal AI assistant published by the AgentScope team and written in Python. It runs entirely on a local machine or on a server, and is reachable through a console, a terminal UI, a desktop application and chat channels including DingTalk, Lark, WeChat, Discord, Telegram, iMessage and QQ. Version 2.0 is a rewrite on top of AgentScope 2.0 and introduces what the project calls an Agent OS architecture. Each agent gets a workspace with three parts: resources stored transparently on disk, governance rules that allow, deny, ask or sandbox an action, and a sandbox for macOS, Linux and Windows. The part relevant to MCP is the drivers layer, described as a protocol-neutral connector for MCP, A2A and ACP that keeps credentials encrypted and routes every call through a policy gate, so QwenPaw acts as an MCP host giving its agents access to external MCP servers. Memory is organised in three layers: a live working context, a full verbatim history and a self-evolving personal knowledge base built on ReMe, all stored as readable and editable Markdown. Models come from the bundled QwenPaw-Flash local runtime in 2B, 4B and 9B sizes, from Ollama or LM Studio, or from more than a dozen cloud providers. Security features include a kernel-level sandbox, tool guard, file guard, skill scanner and access policy. The assistant spawns independent sub-agents with their own memory and skills, runs scheduled tasks, reads and edits project files, processes PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, searches the web and broadcasts results to several channels at once. Capabilities are extended through skills and a plugin marketplace. It targets users who want an extensible assistant that keeps data on their own hardware.
