Alibaba Cloud Ops MCP Server is the official Model Context Protocol server from Alibaba Cloud for operating cloud resources through an assistant. It bridges MCP clients to Alibaba Cloud OpenAPI and to the Operation Orchestration Service, which it uses for actions that need a managed workflow. Elastic Compute Service coverage is the broadest: instances can be created, started, stopped, rebooted and deleted, passwords reset, the operating system replaced, and commands run inside a running instance, while read-only tools list instances, regions, zones, available resource inventory, images and security groups. Virtual Private Cloud support lists VPCs and VSwitches. Relational Database Service tools list instances and start, stop and restart them. Object Storage Service tools list, create and delete buckets and inspect the objects inside one. Cloud Monitor tools return CPU usage, one-minute load average, memory usage and disk usage metrics for ECS instances. Beyond inspection and lifecycle control, the server can analyse a local project to identify its technology stack and deployment method, recognising npm, Python, Java, Go and Docker projects, and then deploy the application onto ECS instances, creating and managing the application and application group as needed. Supporting local file tools list directories, run shell scripts and examine project structure. A dynamic tool layer allows arbitrary Alibaba Cloud OpenAPI operations rather than only the curated set. It is written in Python and run with uvx, needing only an access key id and secret in the environment; the README documents a client entry with a raised timeout because some operations are slow. The server is listed in several marketplaces, including Qoder, Cursor, Cline, ModelScope, Lingma, Smithery and Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, and is aimed at operators who want conversational control of Alibaba Cloud infrastructure.
