pyATS MCP Server makes Cisco's pyATS and Genie network test frameworks drivable by an agent. Those libraries already know how to connect to network devices, parse show command output into structured data, learn a feature's operational state, and run declarative tests; what they lacked was an interface an assistant could call. This server wraps them as structured MCP tools over the Streamable HTTP transport. An agent can look up a device in the testbed, run and parse a show command, apply configuration with a rollback point established first, learn a feature's state before and after a change and diff the two — which is the disciplined way to verify that a change did what was intended and nothing else. It can fan a command out across a fleet using either a thread pool or one process per device, run a declarative Blitz or Robot Framework test, and call a device's REST or RESTCONF API directly. Two safety properties are emphasised: risky paths are guarded before reaching a device, and every call is recorded in an in-memory audit log the agent itself can read. It is Python and described as experimental. The audience is network engineers automating Cisco environments, who should note that configuration tools change production infrastructure.
