MikroTik MCP is a Model Context Protocol server written in Python that connects AI assistants to MikroTik RouterOS devices. It exposes RouterOS administration as MCP tools, so a model can read and change router configuration in response to natural language requests instead of an operator typing CLI commands. The documented scope covers common RouterOS areas such as VLAN management, firewall rules and DNS settings, with further configuration areas described in the project documentation. Since version 0.14.0 the server supports an inventory of devices, which lets one server instance address multiple MikroTik routers in a fleet rather than a single fixed target. The repository ships a documentation set under docs/ covering installation, integration with Claude Desktop, use with the MCP Inspector for interactive testing, an integration testing guide, contributing notes, architecture diagrams in draw.io format and a collection of articles; the same documentation is published on the project website. Demo recordings in the README show the server driven from Claude Desktop, from the MCP Inspector and through the device inventory. The project is published to the MCP registry under the identifier io.github.jeff-nasseri/mikrotik-mcp and has a CI workflow that builds and publishes releases, with build and test status badges in the README. It is aimed at network administrators and DevOps engineers who already run MikroTik hardware and want to query or reconfigure it from an MCP-capable assistant, and at anyone building agent workflows that need programmatic RouterOS access. The code is licensed under the MIT license.
