MCP System Monitor gives an assistant real-time visibility into the machine it runs on. Its tools cover the standard monitoring dimensions: CPU usage percentage, core count and detailed processor information; virtual and swap memory usage; disk usage, partition layout and input-output statistics; network interfaces, active connections and traffic counters; host details including uptime, boot time and logged-in users; and process information with listing, sorting and per-process detail. Because the figures come from the operating system rather than from a description a user typed, the model can actually diagnose rather than speculate — asked why a machine feels slow, it can look at which process is consuming CPU, whether memory is exhausted and swapping, or whether a disk is full. It is written in Go and distributed as tagged binary releases, so it runs with no runtime dependency, which is the right property for a diagnostic tool that may be needed on a machine that is already unhealthy. The tools are read-only, so the exposure is information about the host rather than control over it — still meaningful, since process lists and logged-in users are sensitive. The audience is developers and operators who want an assistant able to inspect a local or remote machine's condition directly.
