xcodebuild MCP Server exposes two tools, build and test, each taking the full path of the folder containing an iOS Xcode workspace or project. It invokes Xcode's command-line build and returns the result, and the important part is what comes back: compiler errors and test failures in the form Xcode reports them, fed to the model. That closes the loop for iOS development outside Xcode itself — the README's stated purpose is working on iOS projects in Visual Studio Code with extensions such as Cline or Roo Code, where the assistant can edit Swift files but previously had no way to find out whether the result compiled. With this server it can build, read the actual error with its file and line, fix it and build again, which is the difference between generated code that probably works and generated code that is known to compile and pass tests. It is a Python project published as mcpxcodebuild, run with uvx or installed with pip, and requires macOS with Xcode installed. The narrow tool surface is a strength: two tools with one obvious parameter each are hard for a model to misuse. The audience is iOS developers who work in an editor other than Xcode and want an assistant that can verify its own changes.
