VictoriaLogs MCP Server connects VictoriaLogs, the log database from the VictoriaMetrics project, to MCP clients. Its tools run queries in LogsQL, VictoriaLogs' own query language, and expose the metadata needed to write those queries correctly: which log streams exist, which fields are present and what values they take. That discovery step matters in log analysis, because the field names in a log database depend entirely on what the shippers were configured to send, and a model that guesses field names produces empty results rather than errors. Query tools cover both retrieving matching log lines and running the aggregations LogsQL supports, so questions about volume and rate are answered by the database rather than by pulling lines into the context window and counting them. It is written in Go, distributed as tagged releases and maintained in the VictoriaMetrics community organisation, which means it tracks the database rather than lagging behind as a third-party wrapper. Being able to ask about logs in natural language matters most during an incident, when the cost of composing an unfamiliar query language by hand is highest. The audience is platform and site-reliability engineers running VictoriaLogs for observability.
