MCP Gateway, also known as Unla, is a lightweight and highly available gateway service designed to convert existing APIs and MCP Servers into endpoints compliant with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) without requiring any code changes. It is configuration-driven, allowing users to transform legacy APIs into MCP Servers using simple YAML configurations. The gateway supports deployment across various platforms including bare metal, virtual machines, ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes, making it highly versatile and platform-agnostic. The project emphasizes zero intrusion, meaning it does not require modifications to existing infrastructure. It is built for efficiency and minimal resource usage while maintaining high performance and availability. MCP Gateway includes a built-in management UI that simplifies setup and operational management, providing an intuitive web interface for configuration and monitoring. Core features include support for converting RESTful APIs to MCP Servers, proxying MCP services, and handling MCP Server events such as Server-Sent Events (SSE) and streamable HTTP. It supports persistent and recoverable sessions, multi-tenant environments, and OAuth-based pre-authentication for security.
