Kong Gateway is a cloud-native, scalable API gateway that manages API, AI LLM, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) traffic with advanced security, observability, and extensibility features.
Gram is the open source stack behind the Speakeasy AI control plane, a central layer through which an organisation connects agents and people to MCP servers, skills, plugins and assistants. It groups its capabilities into four areas. Observe tracks AI usage across teams by tokens or cost, allows drilling into expensive sessions, setting budgets and measuring tool effectiveness; it is built on OpenTelemetry and the data is exportable and reachable through a platform MCP server and a built-in assistant. Secure inspects and enforces every prompt, response and agent action in real time, blocking, redacting or logging sensitive data before it leaves the environment, with configurable policies for prompt injection, shadow usage and detection of personal data and secrets. Connect provides a single control layer joining agents to MCP servers for SaaS vendors, internal APIs and other systems, with policy enforcement, granular access control and on-demand private networking and tunnelling. Distribute centralises delivery of MCP servers, skills, plugins and assistants to teams by enterprise role, enforcing team, server and tool level permissions through RBAC and OAuth 2.1 synced with identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD and Google Workspace. Every tool call, permission change and access event is logged and searchable. The project advertises SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification and works with Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini, Cursor and GitHub Copilot. A hosted version runs at app.getgram.ai, while the repository can be run locally with a ./zero script that installs dependencies, applies database migrations and starts the dashboard and services; Mise and Docker are the main prerequisites, and each git worktree can run its own stack on separate ports. The dashboard is TypeScript and the backend is Go, using Goa, Temporal, Polar and OpenRouter.
